Safeguarding

Sunflowers Children’s Yoga Therapy C.I.C (Sunflowers CYT C.I.C) is committed to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable groups, in all its ventures with children including individual and group yoga classes, individual and group yoga therapy, mental health support (including talking therapy), meditation and mindfulness.

Sunflowers CYT C.I.C has adopted this safeguarding policy and expects all adults working with or for the C.I.C to support and comply with it, including all staff, managers, directors, volunteers and anyone working on behalf of the C.I.C.

Sunflowers CYT C.I.C believes that no child should experience harm or abuse and is committed to protection of children and young people. Sunflowers CYT C.I.C considers the NSPCC definition of abuse: child abuse is when a child is intentionally harmed by an adult or another child – it can be over a period of time, but can also be a one-off action.

It can be physical, sexual or emotional and it can happen in person or online. It can also be a lack of love, care and attention – this is neglect. Any allegation, suspicion of harm or concern is taken seriously and responded to swiftly, fairly and appropriately.

Safeguarding children from harm and abuse is an essential responsibility of Sunflowers CYT C.I.C and we are committed to ensuring any child that encounters us, is properly safeguarded.

Every person under this policy holds responsibility for:

Where a child is in immediate risk, any adult present should contact police on 999 and inform Sunflowers Safeguarding Officer as soon as reasonably possible.

Sunflowers CYT C.I.C has appointed a Safeguarding Officer:

Upon receipt of a safeguarding concern, the Safeguarding Officer will consult with any relevant persons and will make appropriate referrals to the local authority, as set out in the Wirral Borough Councils Local Safeguarding Board’s policy.

Whilst Sunflowers CYT C.I.C would like to take photographs of group activities to share on the official Social Media, written consent will be required from the child’s responsible adult, which will be stored in respect of our Data Policy, which can be found at https://sunflowersyogat.co.uk/.

If you have a safeguarding concern in relation to a child or adult at risk, you should ring 999 if the person is in imminent danger.
